How to renew your Florida CNA license

Complete your 24 hours

Earn 24 continuing-education hours before your May 31 renewal date. Make sure all 7 state-required topics are covered by approved providers.

Verify your employment

Confirm you have performed paid nursing-related services within the last 24 consecutive months. This is required to remain active on the Florida CNA registry.

Submit through CE Broker

The CE Vault reports completed courses to CE Broker daily. Log in to CE Broker to review your hours and file your renewal with the Florida Board of Nursing.

Pay your renewal fee

Pay $55 before your license expires. After expiration the fee rises to $105, and at 120-day Notified Delinquent status it is $160.
  • Important: Florida requires all 24 CE hours to include Bloodborne Pathogens / Infection Control, Domestic Violence, Medical Record Documentation, Resident Rights, Communication with Cognitively Impaired Clients, CPR Skills, and Medical Error Prevention and Safety.

What happens if my Florida CNA license expires?

If your status is still Clear/Active or Clear/Inactive, you can renew but must pay a delinquency fee on top of the standard renewal fee.

My Florida CNA certificate has been expired for more than 2 years. What now?

If you do not renew by two years past expiration, your certificate becomes null and void. You must retake and pass the Florida CNA examination to be recertified.

What does it cost to renew my Florida CNA license?

The fee is $55 if you renew before expiration, $105 after expiration, and $160 if you reach 120-day Notified Delinquent status.
